New Talisman Gold Mines (“The Company”) is developing the historic Talisman Mine in the Hauraki Gold Field.
Management of the local environment and relationships with local communities are paramount considerations and we strive to develop and integrate best practice.
We are committed to the principle of responsible stewardship of the environment when carrying out any of our activities. We believe in operating within a framework that protects and sustains the environment. We believe that responsible, socially-aware mining practice includes looking after the environment.
The environment is not just the mountains, forests and waterways that make up our natural heritage. It includes the people . . . the communities and the human relationships that are involved and intertwined with our business activities.
Through employing local people, engaging in open dialogue and investing locally, we work with the communities that are involved with or impacted by us.
The Company’s original focus, as Heritage Gold NZ Limited, was to acquire prime gold areas in the Coromandel region – the heartland of the New Zealand gold industry.
